What is better than a movie about a comic book super hero? A movie about six all-time favorite comic book heros. The Avengers is one of the best movies of the year and is quickly becoming a timeless classic. Directed by the talented Joss Whedon, The Avengers tells the story of Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D , who gathers together a fantastic group of 6 Marvel Comics super humans that work. Not only does this super-crew save people lives, they have a new enemy and find themselves saving the entire world. The audience will love seeing their favorites, including Thor, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Captain America, Hawkeye, and the Black Widow. In the Avengers, Robert Downey Jr. continues his role as Tony Start/Iron man, Chris Evans jumps into the role of Steve Rogers/Captain America again, and Chris Hemsworth resumes his role as Thor. This is definitely one of TOP ten FILMS of all times and is a great movie for older kids and the entire family.

This movie has been on my favorite list, as one I was hoping to catch. It is funny but, also depicts a more realistic life than many other movies do. Jeff, who lives at home with his mother, lives by the mantra that movies guide us through life with signs. Though, Jeff is a complete slacker, he is completely comfortable and at peace with who he is. Meanwhile, his brother Pat is the complete opposite. Married, has a job and a new Porsche. Though, Pat seems to be well put together, he isn’t. With a wild goose chase ahead of the two they begin to learn more about each other. Being a low-budget movie, this has to be one of the greatest movies and more realistic than I have seen in a while. I enjoyed the plot and sub-plot that involves their mother and her job.
If you like to download movies that have a lot of action and bring in the whole man-vs-nature theme you’re going to love The Grey. This is another one of Liam Neeson’s awesome movies and is sure to keep your eyes on the screen. There are no boundaries that are not crossed in this movie about a man in Alaskan wilds fighting to survive. John Ottaway is a hunter and a guard at a far out of the way oil refinery in Alaska and he’s battling depression – among other things. He keeps the workers of the plant safe from the wild animals that threaten their safety.
21 Jump Street (2012) is directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, and was set to debut on March 16. It was said to be the most anticipated R rated movie of 2012 and is sure to end up on the best movies list of the year. Jonas Hill plays Schmidt. He is known for other roles in The Sitter (2011), Money ball (2011), and Funny People (2009). Channing Tatum plays Jenko. He is known for his role in The Vow (2012), The Dilemma (2011), and Dear John (2010).
Dr.Seuss’ The Lorax (2012) comes from the creators of Despicable Me and Hop and the children’s story from Dr.Seuss. This is a story about a twelve year old boy named Ted who is determined to win the heart of his dream girl, Audrey and bring back nature to his overly industrialized world. In order to do this, he has to discover the story of the Lorax. The Lorax is a story of a grumpy, yet charming little creature that fights to protect his world from land developers. The character voices in this movie are very popular stars. Zac Efron is Ted, the boy, Taylor Swift is Audrey, the girl, Danny DeVito is the Lorax, and Betty White is Ted’s wise Grammy. They help to bring this colorful and funny story to life. This is the third movie of this sort from Universal Studios.
Haywire should be on everyone’s best movies list of 2011. This is a great movie with lots of action and excitement. The main character is Mallory Kane, who handles the jobs that governments can deal with and other leaders would rather not know existed, like hostage rescues in Barcelona. This time she has been sent to Dublin and things go off track.
Following the media hype surrounding The Hunger Games, I had to add this one to my must see movie list. Boy, am I glad that I did. This movie certainly takes a large jump onto my best movies list. Taking place in the near future, North America is in a world of feast or famine.
If you love to watch movies that are unique and just a little bit different than the usual Hollywood stuff you need to check out Miss Bala. It is loud and brash at times and has some awesome sexiness to it. Laura, the main character is a young woman who is looking for a way out of her impoverished life and her looks seem to be the key. She signs up for a beauty contest and manages to get mixed up with a bunch of crazy gangsters who decide that she should win – in exchange, of course, for doing them a few favors. For those who want to get off the beaten path when they watch movies, Miss Bala is an excellent choice in movies.
