This is a truly amazing story based on real events but fictionalized for the screen. It takes place in Bosnia in the 1990’s when the Serbs were attacking the Muslim population. Although it is not exactly a romance movie, it does have an underlying story of romance and hope. The main characters are Ajla and Danijel who are on a date. They are fairly new in their relationship but you can see the spark between the two. They are from opposite ends of Bosnia and aren’t really supposed to be together. While on their date, a bomb goes off in the nightclub that they are at and they are separated. Their relationship isn’t over though. The movie is touching and simultaneously horrifying at some points. The characters will find their way into your hearts and you will be rooting for them all the way.
