The best animation movies list has to include Rio, the 3D animated story set in the beautiful rainforests of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. The main character is Blu. Blue thinks he is the last macaw of his kind and although he is indeed rare he is not the last. In fact, there is another macaw just like him – a female version, Jewel. The only problem is that Blu lives in Minnesota and Jewel is in Brazil. Rio is determined to get there and find her though. When they finally do meet though, they don’t seem very compatible. But that is what makes this one of the best movies – it is about learning from others and opening up yourself to the possibilities in life.

    Rio is definately one of the best animated movies i’ve seen in 2011.
