Jack feels that life is marvelous and the world is full of love and mercy, just like his mother. However, his father has a different view. As Jack experiences sickness, suffering, and even death, the world is no longer as glorious as it once was. As an adult, Jack is faced with gaining a new understanding of the world, forgiving his father, and taking the first steps on his own path. The hope and joy felt at the end of this film makes it one of the top movies around.

There have been some great new animated movies come out in the past year and one of the best movies is Megamind. It is about a big time villain that turns good and how he gets there. With Will Farrell doing the voice of Megamind – the ex-villain with a big blue head – you know this has got to be funny. Megamind is forced into an identity crisis when he is forced into battle with Metro-Man, voiced by Brad Pitt. Megamind has some great “evil” inventions like typhoon cheese and his illiteracy beam, which make the movie even more creative and funny. This is truly a movie for families. The kids love the humour and parents love the story line. It is no wonder that people are putting it on their top movies lists!

One movie that is constantly on peoples best movies lists is The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It is a story unlike anything else that you have ever seen or heard of. It is about a man, Benjamin Button (Brad Pitt) who was born with an aging disease that is quite curious. He was born old and as he ages he gets younger. His mother died in child birth and his father abandoned him very early so he is raised by Queenie, a black woman that works in a senior’s home. His best friend, Daisy, who he meets in the retirement home because her grandmother is a resident there, tells the story, which is based on his diary. This story will move you and make you truly think about life. Once you see it you will understand why it turns up on so many top movies lists!
