Of course you can forget about historical realism since the only it serves only as magnificent background for the action. The story is about soldier of Roman Empire played by Channing Tatum who has the quest to obtain eagle standard that belonged to the legion commanded buy his father and he is accompanied by the Celtic slave played by Mark Strong. You may expect many plot twists and the entire time movie keeps you on the edge of your sit with its incredibly staged battles scenes. It is nice idea to download movies like The Eagle if you like some pure action with beautiful background.
